Ondo State People commend Dr. Agunloye for repairing of roads.
Motorists
in Ikare-Akoko, headquarters of Akoko North East Local Government, yesterday
pledged their support for the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic
Party (SDP), Dr. Olu Agunloye.
An
hotelier, Michael Bobade, who spoke on behalf of the motorists and commercial
motorcycle operators in Ikare-Akoko, hailed Agunloye for “upgrading” the
deplorable Ugbe and Ipe roads.
According
to him, commercial activities have resumed as motorcyclists now ply the roads,
which had been abandoned several years back.
The
residents also commended the intervention of the Olukare of Ikare, Oba Akadiri
Momoh and the Owa-Ale of Ikare who stood their ground against attempt by some
government agencies to stop the rehabilitation projects.
According
to him, government agents came to the sites to stop work on the rehabilitation
with the excuse that “an individual cannot rehabilitate roads” without seeking
the approval of government agencies.
The
people of Ikare had reiterated their resolve to do everything possible to
support Agunloye by mobilising votes for him on November 26, saying “one good
turn deserves another”.
